"I had a young lady who wanted her theme to be a certain MTV video. The mother thought it was way too risque and set her foot down in no uncertain terms. I suggested a compromise, which was celebrating the singer's work over her whole career, some of which had been quite tame. I brought in sketches of a half dozen different centerpieces, and one actual centerpiece our shop mocked up. Each was about a different song and both mom and daughter loved it."
