If your synagogue gives you a CD of your child's Torah portion, it's easy to put it onto his or her iPod. We think this is a great idea since this is where your child's ears are most often located!
If your child has an iPod and uses iTunes, you put the CD into the computer (there should be a drive on the computer where you can do this) and open iTunes. iTunes will ask "Would you like to import this CD into your iTunes library?" Answer yes. If your computer doesn't ask you this question, go to File, then Import. Then indicate the CD as the source to import from. Once it's imported into the library, you need to select the tracks you're interested in and drag them to the iPod directory. You're done!
To make the files easier to find in your iPod, highlight/select them, then either right click and select Get Information or click File then Get Information. Then give all the files a common artist or common album name.
